3D Printing Pre-processing - Chapter 4

Abstract
3D Printing or AM is a process of making three dimensional objects from a digital geometry. Various names are used for different technologies, but most are based on the process of creating objects layer-by-layer. The object is created in different fashions including extruding and laying down successive layers of softened solids, curing layers of liquid materials, sintering or melting powders in layers. Each of these layers can be seen as a thinly sliced horizontal cross-section of the final object.
