Abstract
A candymaker worked with the chemical diacetyl to make candy in a factory. Inhalation of these vapors led to the inability to breathe. Ultimately, we reached a diagnosis of bronchiolitis presumed to be from occupational exposure. This case highlights the need for protective measures when working with chemicals that may induce the so-called popcorn lung.
