Contemporary Perspectives in Data Mining, Information Age Publishing-Iap
01 Jan 2013
Abstract
A few years ago, the topics of global warming, sustainability, and protecting the environment were extremely popular in industry and academia. In many situations, numerous companies just added the word "green" to their names. In academia, new programs were started with the same old courses, but, "green" now is part of their names. Nowadays, is this what is happening with business analytics? In this chapter, we will provide our definition of business analytics and discuss what we believe are the critical components that should appear in business analytics programs so as that this resurgence is a success.
