Abstract
Diagnostic audiology, essential for quantifying degree of hearing loss, differentiation of types of hearing loss, and sites of auditory dysfunction, involves the application of a battery of tests, both objective and subjective. Audiologists use the test information, along with the patient’s case history, to diagnose hearing loss, to make appropriate medical referrals, and to create a (re)habilitative plan. In this chapter we review important concepts and tests in diagnostic audiology. [1st paragraph]
