Abstract
This chapter discusses celebrity health narratives: communication about celebrities' physical and mental health and wellbeing told in a certain way, based on selection and combination of particular aspects of the health issue and of the celebrity's public and private persona, together creating a certain story about what causes good and bad health, what can solve it and how to interpret and evaluate this. Combining existing insights and original analyses, the chapter looks at narratives about celebrity good health and physical and mental illness and analyzes how these stories take shape and various functions they have for the different actors in the celebrity construct that are crucial in the creation of these narratives.
