01 Jan 2023
Abstract
In the early 1800s the basic concept of control was implemented in the weaving industry. NC began a few years after World War II with the requirement for stronger and lighter jet airplane structures. Two choices existed to produce these structures, e.g., wing, fuselage, bulkhead, riveting together many parts or machining a wing or fuselage from a solid piece. The one-piece structure was generally stronger and weighed less.
