Abstract
This chapter describes efforts by a faculty development center at a medical university in Taiwan to provide workshops, lectures, and practice sessions to assess and address current English language and teaching pedagogy needs. The focus in this chapter is on helping physicians and biomedical instructors transition from using Chinese to using English by building their oral English language skills and confidence. Suggestions are given for improving English language training curricula in international medical universities, especially in those already using interactive problem-based learning (PBL) as a teaching technique.
