Deformation and Creep of Silicon Nitride-Matrix Composites
Mechanics of Creep Brittle Materials 2, pp 230-241
1991
Abstract
The stress-strain behaviour and creep resistance of sintered ceramics containing free silicon and having structure similar to self-bonded SiC, reaction-bonded ceramics with Sic, hot-pressed TiN-containing ceramics and hot-isostatically pressed Si3N4 were studied under varying stresses at temperatures up to 1400°C in air, also with sodium sulphate present. Interesting features concerning the high-temperature properties of these materials are discussed.
