Abstract
This artilce describes the connection between creativity and design. It locates creativity in four places: in designs, in the process of designing, in designers, and in users of designs. Central to understanding creativity in design is the notion that designing can create new worlds in which creative designs can be found. This artilce uses the function–behavior–structure ontology to represent these worlds. Finally, it presents three drivers of design creativity: interactions between designers and their designs, interactions between users and designs, and interactions between designers and users.
