The Palgrave Handbook of Applied Creativity in Global Higher Education, pp 247-262
2025
Abstract
Drexel University’s creativity programs are interdisciplinary and designed to develop future leaders in business and education by equipping them with critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills to tackle the complex challenges anticipated for the future. These offerings include the MS in Creativity & Innovation, the MS in Creative Education and Entrepreneurship, and a concentration in the EdD in Educational Leadership and Management Program that emphasizes the neuroscience of creativity and mindfulness. Additionally, Drexel offers stackable Graduate Certificates in Creativity & Innovation and Creativity Tools & Techniques for the Classroom and Workplace. These programs blend theoretical foundations of creativity with practical tools, research-based applications, and strategies for fostering environments that nurture creativity. Drexel's commitment to promoting creativity extends beyond graduate education, with adapted versions of these certificates available for undergraduate students and professionals. Each course culminates in a project where students apply their learning in a practical context. The projects may be stand-alone endeavors or part of a larger, multi-term project, allowing students to deeply engage with the material and integrate it into their professional practice.
