Empirical Foundations and Limits
Evaluation for Risk of Violence in Adults
01 Jun 2009
Abstract
Chapter 3 will address the empirical foundations and limitations of several different approaches to risk assessment. The discussion will focus particularly on specialized risk assessment tools of two kinds: actuarial and structured professional judgment (SPJ), both of which can be described as structured risk assessment. A third approach to risk assessment, termed anamnestic, will also be discussed.
