Hearing loss and other otolaryngologic complications of scuba diving
Occupational Hearing Loss, pp 627-640
2025
Abstract
Scuba diving places special stresses on the ear, and on other structures in the head and neck including the sinuses. Diving is common as a recreational activity, and it is also a component of various applications ranging from military to underwater construction. Understanding the forces applied to the body when diving and the adverse conditions that can arise from the activity is essential for both prevention and treatment.
