Surviving Neurosurgery: Vignettes of Resilience, pp 143-148

Abstract
In this chapter, Dr. Veznedaroglu discusses the process of forming a team that can be successful and productive. Choosing a team for your new practice is often an afterthought when beginning your new chapter in Neurosurgery and not taught in training. Think of key members during your training and have them onboard your new team. Defining roles and needs for you and your team is a crucial step early on in your job negotiations. Define early what your expectations and needs are with your new employer. Find team members who are passionate and interested in your practice and neurosurgery, this is more important than experience.
