Abstract
summarizes the findings linking morbidity and mortality to (a) the individual's perceptions of his or her own global health status; (b) the individual's perceptions about his or her emotional health status-specifically, subdysthymic depression; (c) the individual's subjective age and his or her attitudes toward the aging process; and (d) the individual's sense of meaning, purpose, and goals / translates the background information into policy recommendations that address issues related to service development and delivery as well as to the expansion of the knowledge base pertinent to the 4 main topics (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2009 APA, all rights reserved)
