Students learn about the technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge (TPACK) frameworkfor educational technology and how it was co-opted (TPC) for game studies. Students systematically explore game design by framing game genres as forms of pedagogy as they consider educationalcontent. Students demonstrate their understanding of the interplay of technology, pedagogy, andcontent in gaming environments. This course is important for educators in a broad sense (e.g.,teachers, trainers, designers) who are working in formal and informal learning spaces, interested inunderstanding how games can facilitate meaningful experiences and learning how to identify gamesthat are suitable for their instructional and training needs
