Abstract
This chapter is designed to describe various ways in which an occupational therapist can help in the management of patients with vision disorders. The first goal is to provide information about how optometrists treat various vision disorders using lenses, prism, occlusion, low vision aids, and vision therapy. The second objective is to provide detailed suggestions about how the occupational therapist can work along with the optometrist when managing children who are also being treated for a vision disorder. The final goal is to provide several treatment sequences that can be used by occupational therapists to supplement the vision therapy being performed by an optometrist in the areas of eye movements and visual information processing skills.
