Abstract
Match analysis in Squash discusses the advances in coaching, sports psychology, sports nutrition, and sports science, including the use of wearable, smart technology. Squash is a compelling sport to study from a behavioral science perspective because of its speed, tactical complexity, creativity, and evolving popularity. Elements of match analysis such as situational awareness examine a player’s positional information and creativity recognition during a match. Examining the ambiguity of a squash rally as a creative problem-solving opportunity allows for the introduction of sports science and cognitive paradigms for approaching squash play, focusing on innovation. The future of squash will certainly include assessing such specific performance analytics and big data to assist players in using the information to improve their performance and provide match context for entertainment.
