Practical Implementations And Technology Of Measurement Devices
Ultrasonic Exposimetry, pp 185-216
1993
Abstract
The primary goal of this chapter is to discuss practical implementation and performance of devices designed to determine relevant acoustic output parameters (see Chapter 4) and presently used in measurement practice. In the following, devices such as piezoelectric hydrophones and associated preamplifiers, radiation force balances, thermocouples, calorimeters, and displacement devices are described. Attention is focused on selected examples of commercially available devices in order to illustrate current state-of-the-art technology. Measurement of acoustic output parameters using fiber optic devices such as fiber optic hydrophones is discussed separately in Chapter 10.
