Abstract
If there is anyone who can take subcultural and radical style and turn it into prêt-a-porter fashion, it is Dame Vivienne Westwood. She is the godmother of punk style and has had a career that spans over forty-five years. There are many things you may not know about Westwood; her brand/story is unique. She was a teacher, is a mother and a grandmother, and has created a distinctive fashion empire built on her own morals and principles. She is not afraid to take chances and welcomes challenges.
Westwood is considered an icon and a fashion veteran. She has received the highest accolades throughout her career, including the British Fashion Council’s British Designer of the Year, 1990, 1991; the British Government’s Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, 1992; Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire; and an Outstanding Achievement award at the British Fashion Awards, 2007....
