Abstract
The many aspects of language program leadership are considered in relation to how the program is situated. Situation is defined, first, in the larger institutional context and in terms of organizational structure and mission. It is then examined in relation to the leadership roles of politics and advocacy and to administrative matters of staffing and fiscal and data management.
