Special Topics in Digital Manufacturing - Chapter 10

Abstract
The authors feel that special topics in digital manufacturing may include subjects like cost modeling and estimation, sustainability, and environmental, safety, and health (EHS) subjects of 3D printing and additive manufacturing as well as the mixed reality realm with augmented, virtual, and hybrid reality applications, their associated hardware and software. Even though this book touches base on IoT, especially the IIoT, and digital twin concepts in Chap. 8, most of smart manufacturing including automation and control subjects, machine learning and data analytics, as well as robotics are not within the scope of it.
