Abstract
A variety of special tests are available to supplement routine pure-tone audiometry. These include tests of ability to detect speech, ability to understand speech, and numerous other conditions. Tests also are available to detect central hearing loss, malingering, central auditory pathway dysfunction endolymphatic hydrops, and other maladies.
