Abstract

Squamous cell carcinoma of the temporal bone is a potentially lethal cancer. It occurs most often in patients in their fifth or sixth decade of life, and it can present with a variety of symptoms. Radiation and limited surgery have fairly high failure rates. Total, en bloc resection can be curative but carries high morbidity.
