This chapter discusses the variety of challenges examinees face in preparing for the exam. It further describes assessment activities and tools as well as methods and materials consulted in designing individualized preparation programs to hone the skills needed to pass the exam. Finally, it presents how the communication skills examined in the CS are linked to those required for success in a residency program.
