Abstract
In 1990 Vera Wang founded a design company that reflected her lifelong love of fashion and celebrated the romance, sensuality, and spirit of modern young women. She took the simple idea of designing her own wedding dress and, in fewer than twenty years, turned it into a multimillion-dollar company that now includes a deluge of products and home accessories that reflect an elaborate lifestyle brand. The wonderful success of Vera Wang comes from her talent for creating storybook weddings and her practical experiences as a former Vogue editor and Ralph Lauren merchandiser. The latter role equipped her for creating a successful mass-marketed line of products called Simply Vera. Wang is an international design mag-nate whose products maintain a brand image of elegance, no matter where they are sold. Her career is a guide for all who study or want to work in fashion; the road to success has many twists and turns, but maintaining focus and integrity will surely lead to triumph....
