Book chapter
Workplace Disability
Forensic Mental Health Assessment
01 Jul 2014
Abstract
This chapter focuses on two reports concerning FMHA in the context of workplace disability. The determination of disability in the workplace is a common question within the civil legal context, and may include assertions of psychological injury and resulting damages by the plaintiff that are evaluated through FMHA. The principle applied to the first case concerns assessing legally relevant behavior, and how this information can be used to aid the court in accurate decision-making. The principle for the second case relates to the importance of assessing clinical characteristics in ways that are reliable and valid.
