Es'kia Mphahlele: Themes of Alienation and African Humanism
World Literature Today, v 74(2), pp 350-350
01 Apr 2000
Abstract
While South Africa's eminent man of letters Es'kia (formerly Ezekiel) Mphahlele is not as overlooked as [Ruth Obee] would have us believe, her basic assumption in the present book - that Mphahlele's writings illuminate key historical moments and ideas in recent African literature - is decidedly sound.
