This work marks a first foray into adult fiction by [Oppel], author of numerous books for young readers. He has written a story that would make a fine TV movie. It's got a doctor, Laura Donaldson, whose dream of discovering a cure for cancer goes awry just as her sister is diagnosed with advanced breast cancer.
