The Roar of the Thunder God
World Literature Today, v 76(1), pp 122-123
01 Jan 2002
Abstract
Not every murder in the novel is committed directly by [Yeve] initiates, but the influence of the cult is at least indirectly connected to all of them. The central character is the woman Ablator, whose husband and brother-in-law have been supplementing their income by engaging in ritual murder. When these two men are found dead, the Yeve leaders announce that they have offended their prime deity, Torhonor/Xebieso.
