A non-uniformly distributed parameter transmission line model

Abstract
This paper discusses the development and derivation of a transmission line model that can account for non-uniform distribution of line parameters, specifically due to a temperature gradient along the line. This novel transmission line model was built upon standard voltage and current transmission line equations in conjunction with temperature dependency of line parameters. A solution to the resultant second order linear differential equation was determined, and for validation and demonstration purposes, the developed non-uniformly distributed parameter line model was compared to the uniformly distributed one using various temperature gradient scenarios.
