Abstract
This paper proposes an iterative method to compute singular points of the differential-algebraic equations (DAEs) model of power systems at any given parameter value. The method, which is a Newton-Raphson-Seydel (NRS) algorithm, uses generator angles to parameterize the algebraic part of the DAEs model and identifies the singular points as the saddle node bifurcation points of the load bus variables. The proposed method is implemented into Voltage Stability Toolbox (VST) and simulations results are presented for the IEEE 3- and IEEE 14-bus systems.
