A site-specific model for the spatial incoherence of the seismic ground motions

Abstract
An analytical model for the site-specific description of the spatial incoherence of the seismic ground motions is developed. The model is based on the spatial incoherence expression of Luco and Wong and on the analysis of the vertical propagation of waves through horizontally extended stochastic layers overlying a rigid bedrock. The approach can be used in the seismic response analysis of lifelines at sites where recorded data are not available.
