Building identification: needs and means
Dynamic Response of Structures, pp.430-437
01 Jan 1986
Abstract
The need to conduct "systems identification" of existing buildings by nondestructive testing is discussed. A recommended flowchart is given. Selected parameters of an analytical model of a seven-story test building were quantified by subjecting it to tests and processing its measured responses. Existing dynamic test procedures and associated algorithms were used to identify frequencies and mode shapes of the building. A direct measurement of the flexibility coefficients was done by static tests.
