Abstract
Future mobile communication systems could benefit from a digitally beam formed multibeam phased array systems. The multibeams are generated and scanned using phase and amplitude weighting in digital signal processors. The broadband circularly polarized antennas are important element in this communication structure. This paper presents implementation and experimental evaluation of annular ring patch antenna leading to implementation of 2x2 sub-array antenna at S-ban. The achieved directivity gain is 9dBi over frequency of 2.1-2.7GHz. The input 2:1VSWR is measured overfrequency range of 1 GHz.
