Abstract
A new record spurious free dynamic range (SFDR) performance was achieved by a coherent PM RF photonic link that employed a newly developed optical phase locked loop (OPLL) photonic integrated circuit (PIC) chip. With help of the OPLL PIC, the PM RF photonic link demonstrated a 130 dB.Hz(2/3) SFDR and a 3dB bandwidth of similar to 1GHz. The combined SFDR and bandwidth performance represents similar to one order of magnitude improvement over the prior state-of-the-art PM RF photonic links.
