Abstract
The authors introduce the continuous wavelet transform (CWT) method of time-frequency analysis to the processing of electrogastrographic (EGG) signals. Both the amplitude and frequency of the gastric slow waves vary with time, and the low and high frequency components which are related with the gastric contraction are detected from the recording of EGG signals. The results show that CWT method is appropriate for the measurement of the slow wave frequency and the detection of spike events.
