Design of an Integrated Optic Fabry-Perot Optical Modulator for Microwave Applications
1994 24th European Microwave Conference, v 2, pp 1459-1464
Sep 1994
Abstract
This paper concerns the application of lightwave technology to microwave systems, specifically the design of a novel optical modulator. This new modulator uses a Fabry-Perot interferometer with internal Bragg reflector mirrors. The device is expected to be small, less the 500μm in length, have a bandwidth in excess of 10GHz, and a driving voltage below 5 Volts.
