Abstract
Summary form only given. Resonance interactions between electron beam (EB) and optical wave (OB) within vacuum channel having grooved/flat dielectric walls were initially studied in laser accelerator project, and effective energy's transferring EB-OB had been demonstrated. EB-OB transferring in near-surface interaction region is now actively researched for the electromagnetic fields' generation/amplification in THz band, both for Cherenkov scheme having dielectric waveguiding surface and Smith-Purcell radiating scheme, which uses conductive metallic grating. Recently it was proposed the idea to implement additional means in transferring scheme for driving the electrons' presence into interaction region and this way to perform an amplitude modulation of the OB passing through. Achievable rate of modulation is of order 5% from the optical frequency, while applied driving voltage is of order 1 V. The newest research for performing of such modulation is presented. The realization of small size integrated structure for THz-generation/modulation/mixing by today's MEMS technological processes is also discussed.
