Abstract

Clean energy Energy management Engineering Engineering education Green buildings Leadership Manufacturing Manufacturing engineering Quality management Students Sustainable development Systems engineering
This paper describes enhancement of engineering education focusing on sustainable manufacturing engineering for upcoming smart generation through the workshop and engineering seminar with regards to quality management, smarter and green energy buildings, lean and green manufacturing, and engineering leadership. There are a number of challenges which industries are facing the considerations on energy issues and product life cycles which effect on cost and environment. Simultaneously, these issues are being taken over to next generation who must equip with experiences, knowledge, and leadership skills aimed at sustainable manufacturing engineering technology. The smarter technology become, the smarter leaders should become. In this paper, workshop and seminar, delivered during the Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering (IMSE) Day and composed of several subjects mentioned-above gearing up students to have readiness via specialized and experienced workforce and to enhance student’s professional success, are introduced. This paper is aimed at integrating sustainable energy into manufacturing engineering education and to cultivate leaders in the field among minority and female engineering students. Successful hold will lead to a cornerstone for advanced engineering education.
