Uniform dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) appears to be a very attractive solution for many medical application. Although there are many different non-equilibrium discharge pattern have been proposed for medical application like tissue treatment, sterilization, and cell stimulation. These discharges are different in term of plasma produced, degree of ionization, plasma temperature, gasses employed, and ultimately in the amount and identity of active species and charged particles that can influence biological interactions. Among all the discharge patterns, the most commonly used cold plasma is DBD and plasma jet. DBD provides on target treatment to deliver the active species to the projects comparing to plasma jet. Nanosecond-pulsed DBD is sepcially suitable for medical application, not only it can provided all active species that non-equalibrium plasma can produce to the target but it also produces highly uniform plasma despite of the target surface. Thus, nanosecond-pulsed DBD produces very controllable plasma system that gives a uniform treatment result.
