Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of measurement set selection, placement and distortion on calculation of unmeasured buses in over-determined systems. Among questions posed is whether or not spatial distortion effects are more pronounced than their temporal counterparts. In addition, a proposed technique to derive multi-dimensional ABCD matrices is provided and their condition numbers are studied for the purposes of understanding effects, if any, on calculated unmeasured bus values. Example test cases included 3 and 9 bus power system models and inferences were obtained on effects of scaling results for larger sized power systems.
