2014 IEEE Benjamin Franklin Symposium on Microwave and Antenna Sub-systems for Radar, Telecommunications, and Biomedical Applications (BenMAS), pp 2-2
Sep 2014
Abstract
The Benjamin Franklin Symposium is reestablished after a hiatus of twenty years thanks to the vision and perseverance of conference general chair, Prof. Afshin Daryoush from Drexel University. The 2014 symposium, abbreviated as BenMAS 2014, is focused on Microwave and Antenna Sub-systems for radars, telecommunications, and medical applications. BenMAS 2014 is sponsored by the IEEE Philadelphia Section and the Philadelphia MTT-S and AP-S chapter. The one-day symposium held on September 27, 2014 features a plenary session highlighting three outstanding speakers; three oral presentation sessions on radar, telecommunications, and medical applications; and finally, an interactive poster session. The symposium also includes a student paper competition. The plenary session speakers, Dr. Fred Sterzer, Dr. Ulrich Rohde, and Dr. Joseph Usoff are distinguished researchers and entrepreneurs who shall provide a broad overview of the current and future trends in microwave and antenna systems. In addition, each oral session begins with an invited speaker, Prof. Ahmad Hoorfar for radar, Prof. Tadao Nagatsuma for telecommunications, and Prof. Paul Staufer for medical applications.
