Abstract
In this paper we present a new and flexible method to generate Quadrature Amplitude Modulated (QAM) electrical signals directly in the optical domain, hence providing a straightforward method for Radio-over-Fiber (RoF) systems using QAM modulations. The proposed method has carrier frequency generation potential in extremely wide range, and utilizes simple baseband electrical circuitry.
