Non-destructive testing of existing structures
Proceedings of the 8th European Conference on Earthquake Engineering, pp.7.1/89-7.1/96

Abstract
Nondestructive testing of existing structures was carried out to determine their mechanical characteristics--stiffness, mass, and damping. Depending on the experimental effort utilized, mechanical characteristics may be evaluated at various global and local levels. To derive the maximum benefit from experimental efforts, nondestructive testing and data evaluation should be performed using the concept of structural identification. This paper discusses a rigorous application of this concept.
