Pulse to pulse coherency of actively mode-locked laser diodes
International Topical Meeting on Microwave Photonics. MWP'99. Technical Digest (Cat. No.99EX301), pp 69-72
1999
Abstract
Mode-locked lasers are potentially viable in distribution of frequency reference signals in many distributed systems. Phase noise degradation of the reference signal distributed by a monolithically integrated electro-absorption (EA) modulator with multiple quantum well (MQW) laser diode is investigated. The FM noise degradation dependence on EA modulator bias voltage is correlated to pulse to pulse coherency time.
