Abstract
Together with different factors the profitability of a company is very strong influenced by the costs of the development- and manufacturing process. The costs of the manufacturing are set and defined mostly in the design process but otherwise the efficiency of the product development influences this costs.
To set up an efficient product development process it is necessary to walk new ways. Basics for that are modern tools of the CAx-technology. Their assignment is not only concentrated in the design field. Above all there is a process oriented data transit implementation necessary. The next vision of most companies is the integrated planing of products, processes and production systems by using computer based tools. Goal is to develop produsible, products in a visual and virtual production environment.
