Air Temperature from Weather Stations in Barranquilla, Colombia, 2000-2022
2025
Abstract
This dataset is part of the ESCALA (Study of Urban Health and Climate Change in Informal Settlements in Latin America) project that was funded by the Lacuna Fund of the Meridian Institute https://lacunafund.org/.
This data from weather monitoring stations maintained by the IDEAM (Institudo de Hidrología, Meteorología y Estudios Ambientales) of Colombia contains the average, maximum and minimum temperature (°C) for the Metropolitan area of Barranquilla per
epidemiological week, 2000-2022. The minimum, mean, and maximum temperatures were calculated by epidemiological week using daily weather station records. Several missing data points were identified for the analysis period; for those cases, no technique was applied to fill in the missing data and the weekly values were reported as NaN.
Please see the ESCALA codebook for more details about the variables.
