Police-Reported Road Traffic Crashes in Barranquilla, Colombia, 2016-2022
2025
Abstract
This dataset is part of the ESCALA (Study of Urban Health and Climate Change in Informal Settlements in Latin America) project that was funded by the Lacuna Fund of the Meridian Institute https://lacunafund.org/.
This dataset contains Road traffic collisions recorded by the police from 2016 to 2022. These data were from the Agencia Nacional de Seguridad Vial (ANSV) of Colombia. (1)There are collision events with no information for some attributes such as COLZONE, COLOBJ, COLOBJTYP. (2) Each event has three hypotheses about its cause, but the latter two are mostly blank or repeat the first hypothesis. The following preprocessing errors were identified:(1) Data cells with no information were filled with NA, (2) Columns with the second and third collision hypotheses were removed as they were redundant with the first hypothesis.
