This dataset is part of the ESCALA (Study of Urban Health and Climate Change in Informal Settlements in Latin America) project that was funded by the Lacuna Fund of the Meridian Institute https://lacunafund.org/. This dataset contains an inventory of trees in Bogota, Colombia, 2005-2023. Detailed attributes of individual trees located in the urban areas of Bogotá D.C., representing species classified as trees, shrubs, palms, or tree ferns. Each record corresponds to a single plant and includes information on its characteristics, such as species, size, health condition, location, and environmental context. This information is collected by the Bogotá Botanical Garden and consolidated by SIGAU, which publishes it openly on their website. Data were provided by the SIGAU (By its Spanish acronym: Urban Tree Management Information System). Each tree was recorded from the moment of planting, minimizing errors. It is only necessary to correctly identify the tree ID to determine whether it corresponds to the same tree in different years or to a newly planted tree with its respective attributes. Data cleaning included: (1) Extraction of the raw database and loading of the attribute table for each point recorded in the vector layer. (2) Conversion of the date column, which originally comes in DATE format, into three new columns separating year, month, and day. Months are recorded as integers. (3) Selection of the variables of interest and renaming them according to the parameters established in the data dictionary and categorization based on the defined domains.
