2025
Abstract
This dataset is part of the ESCALA (Study of Urban Health and Climate Change in Informal Settlements in Latin America) project that was funded by the Lacuna Fund of the Meridian Institute https://lacunafund.org/.
The data were obtained directly from the Barranquilla Verde Office.
The original data set includes individual data for each tree over 1.3 m DBH (diameter at breast height), including its species and dasometric variables. These data were aggregated at the plot level to obtain the number of trees and variables summarized at the individual plot level, including: Plot number id, Plot area in square meters, Number of individual trees recorded in the plot, Number of tree species recorded in the plot, Average diameter DBH of trees within the plot in centimeters, Average height of trees in the plot in meters, Total basal area of trees in the plot in square meters, Cumulative canopy area covered by tree on the plot in square meters, Proportion of area covered by the canopy of trees within a plot, Cumulative canopy volume of trees covered by tree on the plot in cubic meters
